Home made chocolate... with a twist!

I love making my own chocolate and lately I have been adding all sort of nutritious ingredients to give it a boost and turn a treat into a health experience :-) Here I use the Energy blend and new freeze dried strawberries. I also use the 'as raw as it gets' chocolate couverture blocks, but any chocolate base would work well, then simply add your extras! The coconut oil helps thin the chocolate mix which is needed to maintain a good consistency when adding dry powders.

Hot Cross Cookies

Hot cross buns are fun but not always that straight forward to make, particularly if you avoid gluten. This idea for 'cookies' is much easier and actually turned out a lot more 'bun like' than i'd anticipated- winner!

Another beautiful springtime recipe just in time for pollen season, Carrot and Lemon Cake with Bee Pollen! Have you tried our new organic bee pollen yet? It's been a great addition to our range and we're getting loads of great feedback on it, a top quality spanish bee pollen at a really great price, we know it can be expensive for people who take it every day through the pollen season. We also wanted to experiment and come up with a cake recipe with it as we know it can get repetitive adding it to cereals and smoothies each day so here we add it to a fabulous carrot and lemon cake!

I love layered up treats, they look so pretty... particularly if you chill the slices and use a sharp knife for neat edges.

Little Lemon Spring Pud

Dairy Free 'White Chocolate'

I love chocolate, and the RealFoodSource organic coconut sugar chocolate is my ultimate favourite BUT sometimes you want a sweet treat more reminiscent of white chocolate for a change. There are a few commercial dairy free white chocolates on the market but most are full of refined nasties. This simple creation is perfect to blend together in a few minutes and is full of good stuff.

Classic Easter biscuits

One of my favourite Easter themed experiments was these Classic Easter biscuits. I trialled a couple of different flour combinations and both options worked really well, so it would seem this is a pretty versatile recipe.
