Easy Green Smoothie

You'd be hard pushed to get through January without coming across a green smoothie recipe!

For those who are new to the green smoothie revolution this is a great start to ease you in gently, you can bump up the fruit ratio a little if you want to but the aim is to pack in as many veggies in as you can!

The cashew paste gives a great creaminess and the baobab gives great flavour and an extra nutritional boost.

Recipe: Easy Green Smoothie

Serves 1-2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water (or more to reach desired thickness)
  • 1 cup loosely packed spinach (or 1 tsp wheatgrass powder)
  • ½ cup cucumber
  • 1 large orange- peeled
  • 1 tbs baobab powder
  • 1-2 tbs cashew paste (more for thicker creaminess)

 Method:

Blend everything together until as smooth as possible. I find it easiest to add half the water first, blend well and then add the remainder and re-blend to get the smoothest consistency.

You could swap some of the water for part ice for immediate chill, this will be thicker so a little extra water may be needed.

Chill to serve. Will store in the fridge in an airtight container for 24 hours.

Options:  You could also try other yellow/green fruits- banana, apple and mango are good.
